Being a stay-at-home mom is a full-time job. I can understand this because I have been a stay-at-home mom for the past seven and a half years. You have endless chores both professional and personal… Yet you are a stay-at-home mom.
I chose freelancing as my career because I never wanted to end up as a corporate slave. Unfortunately in Eastern Culture, a stay-at-home mom is no more than a laborer. However, I am not following the trend. The perception is changing slowly. However, it is not easy managing work, kids and home altogether.
The current economic challenges and rising standard of living demand both partners to be contributing financially to household income. Thank GOD I realized this quite earlier. Fortunately, now I am at a stage where I have established myself financially. I now encourage other stay-at-home moms to work from their homes.

I believe no
Primarily if you want to become a SAHM you have to be dependent upon your husband for finances. All you have to do is look after your children and household chores. This is not an easy job.
The modern SAHM mom is different, however. She does have a life of her own. Take me for example. The whole day belongs to my kids and home. After putting my kids to sleep I have 3-4 hours dedicated completely to myself and my work.
The modern SAHM does have a professional life. Thanks to remote work opportunities and job exploring platforms. You can do several jobs from the comfort of your home.
Stay-at-home mom Depression
Stay-at-home mom depression is the main reason behind my motivation for work. Being a university topper I always wanted to earn and become financially independent. Believe it or not, financial independence adds a lot to your mental health and confidence.
Always hand to mouth at the end of the month and not being able to spend without any worry put me into depression.
A lot of incidents have contributed to my stay-at-home mom’s depression phase. However, I believe the only thing that can pull you out from this phase is :

How to put Stay At Home Mom on Resume?
Stay-at-home moms often refrain from working because they don’t know how to put stay-at-home mom on resumes. This is primarily important if you are applying for the job of a caregiver.
- Mention the title of being a stay-at-home mom at the top of the resume
- Then write your duties in chronological order.
- Do not forget to mention your hobbies and interests.
- Mention your skills such as meal preparation, managing the home budget and home maintenance.
Another important thing is to highlight your strengths on your resume such as:
- Eagerness to learn
- High aptitude
- Clean driving record
- Patience in dealing with kids
- Time Management.
